Virtual Exhibition of Acehnese paintings destroyed by the Tsunami

Mr. Round Kelana is a 65-years old painter from Banda Aceh. Mr. Kelana was washed away by the Tsunami and he rode with the wave for two kilometers. Miraculously he survived. However, his house, together with most of his paintings are now in the bottom of the ocean.

The gallery of his paintings presented at the NIAS Tsunami pages is from the NIAS Press’ electronic archives, which now has the only copies of his paintings.

Click here to see the exhibition!

Mr Kelana has kindly allowed us to exhibit his paintings made after the tsunami
