Monographs
The monographs are arranged according to geographical
areas and are all placed on open shelves in the library. As the
books are placed in numerical order, a search in the library’s
online catalogue Asiana
is recommended for finding specific material.
Reference books
The reference books are on the open shelves in the
library. Older issues of annual reference material are kept in closed
stacks, but are readily available upon request at the librarian's
desk.
The reference collection is arranged geographically
after region and thereunder by country like monographs in our loan
collections. Furthermore the reference books are subdivided into
20 subject areas. The shelving signature ”REF-fe-CHI-04-01”
tells that the book is placed as book no. 1 in group 4 (statistics)
in the China part of the reference collection.
Journals
The current journal titles are placed in alphabetical
order, with the most recent issue on display and older issues behind
the lift-open shelf. Even older issues and issues of discontinued
titles are kept in the stacks, but are readily available upon request
at the librarian’s desk.
The total holdings of journals and newsletters can be searched in
the library catalogue: Asiana
You can also view an alphabetic list of journals and newsletters,
which the library currently subscribes to. The titles are linked
to their web sites, if known. The collection is also represented
in the Danish electronic research library system www.DEFF.dk
