Rules
for borrowing
NIAS LINC is open to the public and
its collections can be freely used by visitors to the library. The
books in the monograph collection are also available to libraries
in the Nordic countries through the interlibrary loan system. Materials
in the NIAS Library & Information Centre collection can be found
in the online catalogue via the homepage
Who can borrow
Danish residents above the age of 18 may register
to borrow books directly from the library. A valid identification
document including Danish civil registration number (CPR number)
must be presented upon registration.
Students/researchers at Lund University, students/researchers registered
in the SUPRA network, and visiting researchers at an academic institution
in Copenhagen can register if they have a guarantee from their institutions.
The guarantee form must be signed by the head of the department
and stamped.

The NIAS LINC collection is available for interlibrary loans at
local libraries within the Nordic countries. Interurban loans can
also be made through the Netpunkt national catalogue.
Library card
The library card is personal and may only be
used by the registered owner. If the card is lost, it must be reported
missing immediately to the library. Lost cards are replaced at a
cost of 25 DKK.
What can be borrowed
All monographs, except material older than 100
years can be borrowed. Reference material and periodicals are only
available for use in the library, but copies can be made.
Loan period, renewals, reservations and fines for overdue loans.
The loan period is one month. Loans can be renewed
if not reserved by another borrower, either directly in the online
catalogue or by contacting the library. Material on loan can be
renewed for maximum 6 months.
Material already on loan can be reserved in the
catalogue directly. You will receive a notification from the library
when the reserved titles are available. The material will be on
reserve for 7 days from the date of the notification. It must be
picked up personally in the NIAS Library & Information Centre.
Reservations can be cancelled directly in the online catalogue,
or by contacting the library.
Fines for overdue loans:
· 1st overdue notice: no fines
· 2nd overdue notice: 25 DKK per item.
· 3rd overdue notice: 50 DKK per item.
· 4th overdue notice: Invoice (500 DKK per item plus an administrative
fee of 150 DKK per time).
If fines are not paid the matter will be handled by debt collection.
No further loans can be made in case of outstanding fines of 200
DKK or more.

Photocopying
Photocopying facilities is available in the copy
room and copying cards are bought at the librarian’s desk.
Units/prices are:

Single copies can be made for 1,25 DKK/copy.
